Job Description

Responsibilites: Reporting to the Head of Transport & Facilities, the candidate will be expected to;

• Effectively deliver various shipments to their respective areas with minimum supervision,
•  Ensure safe keeping of all cargo carried whilst in your care,
• Ensure proper handling of the motor vehicle/truck, tidy and well kept,
• Ensure the vehicle is serviceable before use and any defects promptly reported,
• Exercise utmost care and safe keeping of cargo while loading or offloading to ensure total safety,
• Liaise with management frequently with regard to progress on any given assignment,
• Deliver/collect documents as and when instructed without delay. In particular you must complete accurately and comprehensively all “vehicle checklist” and/or other delivery notes and documentation and ensure that all other parties involved in their completion record proper details,
• Comply with all company policies and procedures,
• Ensure customer service is maintained at all times,
• Avoid overloading, over speeding, over-lapping, riding on pavements or commit any offence that could land you to jail or tarnish our company image,
• Directly supervise and be responsible for the actions of any subordinate staff working under you, in particular your “turn boy/loader”,
• Perform any other duties as may be directed to you by those in authority from time to time,
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with your office colleagues and workmates.
